Equator Academy of Art started
its operations in 1987 and has since grown from strength to strength to
become the largest Art & Design College in Northern region, Malaysia. Today,
Equator have two campuses in the tropical island of Penang. Penang, with its
rich cultural heritage, is ideal as an inspirational environment for
students to develop their creativity.
Equator brings out the widest expression of its students' creative talents
through its unique cross-disciplinary learning, research and practical
training, anchored in an environment whereby theory and practice are
integrated. This ensures graduates success in a continually changing and
increasingly demanding market. |

Equator frequently review and update its facilities, resources and
equipment, offering programmes that are relevant to society's needs. The
academy also offers an environment of study excellence with qualified
professional artists, designers and educators.
All diploma education offer by
Equator is approved by the Ministry of Education and accredited by Malaysian
Qualifications Agency (MQA) with Full Recognition.
Equator is one of the government approved colleges authorised to accept
foreign students. Students can enrol in the Full-Time Diploma course which
allows for credit transfers into Overseas Degree programmes with one of its
partner universities. The annual intakes in January, March, and July.
